Shiatsu was originally developed in Japan as a bodywork therapy to promote health and wellbeing. Using the framework of oriental medicine theory, the practice works along the meridians of the body.
Each Yin-Yang meridian pairing takes into consideration the five elements and as such a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspect, as well as the seasons, colours, foods and flavours, along with the times of the day.
This allows the practice to be uniquely tailored to each individual and even a short treatment can provide benefits. Through practising it, one can discover self, wellbeing and the joy within.
Shiatsu can be learned as a short 18 week module, giving you skills to work on family and friends or as a professional pathway through the Diploma of Shiatsu and Oriental Therapies.
