{"id":12823,"date":"2019-09-23T18:24:38","date_gmt":"2019-09-23T08:24:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mbsfestival.com.au\/?p=12823"},"modified":"2019-09-23T18:24:38","modified_gmt":"2019-09-23T08:24:38","slug":"cabot-health-recipes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mbsfestival.com.au\/melbourne\/blog\/cabot-health-recipes","title":{"rendered":"Cabot Health Recipes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Courtesy of Sydney MBS special guest Dr. Sandra Cabot, Cabot Health have provided us with some easy and healthy recipes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fig and Walnut Overnight Oats<\/strong><br \/>\nNot only are these overnight oats delicious, they are also packed with protein and B vitamins to fuel you throughout the morning and they are made in advance so you can take them with you on the go.<br \/>\nServes: 2<br \/>\nIngredients:<br \/>\n\u2022 \u00bd cup rolled oats<br \/>\n\u2022 4 tbsp chia seeds<br \/>\n\u2022 \u00bd cup walnuts, chopped<br \/>\n\u2022 2 scoops Ultimate Superfood powder<br \/>\n\u2022 1 cup unsweetened coconut yoghurt<br \/>\n\u2022 Dash water<br \/>\n\u2022 Pinch cinnamon<br \/>\n\u2022 1 tbsp honey<br \/>\n\u2022 2 figs diced + 2 sliced for topping.<br \/>\n\u2022 Optional: 2 tbsp. dried cranberries<br \/>\nMethod:<br \/>\n1. Divide ingredients evenly between two jars and stir. Top with remaining figs.<br \/>\n2. Cover and allow to set overnight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gut Loving Juice<\/strong><br \/>\nRich in glutamine, pectin, antioxidants and probiotic fibres, this juice will help to heal the gut lining and promote healthy gut flora.<br \/>\nServes: 1<br \/>\nIngredients:<br \/>\n\u2022 1 apple<br \/>\n\u2022 2 sticks celery<br \/>\n\u2022 Handful mint leaves<br \/>\n\u2022 1 medium carrot<br \/>\n\u2022 1 cup sprouts<br \/>\n\u2022 3 large cabbage leaves<br \/>\n\u2022 1 scoop Ultimate Gut Cleanse<br \/>\nMethod:<br \/>\n1. Wash, trim and chop vegetables and place through the juicer.<br \/>\n2. These home-made granola bars utilise whole foods ingredients and serve as a quick and healthy snack to eat on the go.<br \/>\nServes: 8<br \/>\nIngredients:<br \/>\n\u2022 \u00bd cup oats<br \/>\n\u2022 \u00be cup almond butter<br \/>\n\u2022 \u00bd cup almond meal<br \/>\n\u2022 1 cup chopped nuts and seeds<br \/>\n\u2022 \u00bc cup chia seeds<br \/>\n\u2022 \u00bd cup dried cranberries or sultanas<br \/>\n\u2022 \u00bc cup coconut oil (melted)<br \/>\n\u2022 3 tbsp. natural honey<br \/>\n\u2022 8 scoops Ultimate Superfood powder<br \/>\nMethod:<br \/>\n1. Grease or line a small slice tray.<br \/>\n2. Add all ingredients to a large mixing bowl. Use hands to combine mixture. If mixture is too dry, add in additional coconut oil.<br \/>\n3. Transfer mixture to the slice tray, pressing down firmly and evenly.<br \/>\n4. Allow to set in fridge for 2 hours and then cut into bars.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Superfood Bliss Balls<\/strong><br \/>\nPacked with protein, healthy fats and antioxidants, these bliss balls will curb your 3.30pm cravings and support healthy immune function.<br \/>\nServes: Makes about 20 balls<br \/>\nIngredients:<br \/>\n\u2022\u00be cup mixed nuts (almonds, cashews, brazil nuts)<br \/>\n\u2022 \u00bc cup Ultimate Superfood powder<br \/>\n\u2022 \u00bc cup chia seeds<br \/>\n\u2022 1 tsp vanilla essence<br \/>\n\u2022 \u00bd cup desiccated coconut + extra for rolling<br \/>\n\u2022 \u00bc cup coconut oil, melted<br \/>\n\u2022 1 cup goji berries<br \/>\n\u2022 Pinch of sea salt<br \/>\nMethod:<br \/>\n1. In a food processer, blend the dry ingredients together (nuts, Ultimate Superfood powder, chia seeds, sea salt and desiccated coconut) until nuts are broken into small pieces, and set aside.<br \/>\n2. Blend coconut oil, vanilla essence and goji berries together.<br \/>\n3. Add the dry ingredients back into the food processor and combine with the wet ingredients until all are well combined. If the mixture is too dry, add a dash of water.<br \/>\n4. Roll into small balls and then roll in the coconut to coat.<br \/>\n5.
